Educate, Agitate, Motivate Africa and the African diaspora

Shawnathan Chase

Short Version.
As a nation, we have replaced our God leading us with that of politicians and the educated class to our own detriment. We no longer train up our children in God’s word (I am not talking Christianity – see reference below). It is written.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

As a result, we now face a godless generation that is determined to lead us toward our own destruction.

Long Version.
My Wednesday morning began like any other—a quick glance at my phone to catch up on the latest in my WhatsApp world. Then, a news story caught my eye: a 13-year-old boy had been shot. Hours later, an update arrived. The boy hadn’t survived. Shawnathan Chase was dead.

The weight of that news shaped the rest of my day. That night, I called  The Marcia Weekes Show and, in the brief time I had, shared my thoughts. Now, I continue.

It begins with acknowledging the tragedy before us. We must approach this with God. In our nation’s formative years, we placed Him at the center of our lives. Our anthem itself declares, “The Lord has been the people’s guide.” But where is God in our thoughts today? I dare say, He is barely present—if at all.

To move forward from this tragedy, we must once again make Him our guide. His Word must be the foundation upon which we build our solutions. Time and again, the so-called “experts” and “educated class” have failed us, leaving us in this dismal state that we are now in. As I said on The Marcia Weekes Show, “If you educate a fool, you end up with an educated fool.”

History is filled with nations that have crumbled, many led by highly educated individuals and self-proclaimed experts. What was missing? The One who bestows wisdom and blessings—GOD.

Back to the Basics.
I believe we have already lost a generation—one that has succumbed to the ills of this world. Let me explain. Too many today live as if their actions have no consequences. Their focus is solely on themselves, driven by the belief that only money matters. But without God at the center, their lives become empty and unfulfilled.

I often remind people: when you are on your deathbed, you won’t ask to see your bank statement. Instead, you’ll look around for the people you loved—the ones who now care for you. What truly matters in life is how you care for your neighbor and your God. In the end, it is our relationships that will determine the outcome of our judgment.

My own example.
As a child, my parents read Bible stories and taught me what was right and wrong. What were they doing? They were training me with stories and preparing me for adulthood. The stories came in books, theatre, and yes, the Bible. The story’s foundation was based on God’s word.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Later in my adult life, my conscience would prick me if I had a moral decision to make. I would remember thinking, God is watching. Until this day, I stay in check with my actions, God is watching. And it all stems from the stories I heard as a child.

My Conclusion.
Today’s world of Barbados has absented itself from God’s foundation. We need to get back to God and His Word. Again, I am NOT talking Christianity. Christianity, too, has failed us. All religions have failed us – read Stop telling lies about our bible – see reference below.

There is a lot more that I can write on, but I stop here for now. Can the children who did not have this upbringing be rescued? Of course, in God all things are possible.

In short, we need to move away from these “experts” who have only moved us in the direction of raising godless children/adults with no direction. It has to stop.

My prayer is that Barbados come together under God and move forward under God.

May the name of Shawnathan Chase remind us that we must return to God.

If you want to continue failing with these so-called experts, go right ahead. Stupid is, and stupid will continue – See the reference on“We Black people are Stupid.”
